Whether it is a pumpkin spice latte, mulled wine, or hard cider - fall in a cup is one of my favorites during this season! I love how certain flavors and colors in your cup can give you feelings of nostalgia and happiness. Here are some fall drink recipes that I hope to try/make this fall season. Enjoy!

Saturday, October 10 marked year one for The Price Life blog. I really started this blog for me - to document my life in Michigan and to share some of the things I am thinking about, doing, liking, cooking, reading, and/or eating. Honest moment - sometimes I feel like this blog is dumb. But, then I remember why I am doing it. I am fairly certain than in 10 years from now (if I am not still blogging), I will look back and be glad for this online memory collector. Thanks for letting me share all the little things that I experienced, enjoyed, and was challenged by this past year. Looking forward to sharing more in the coming year!
How was your weekend? Ours was lovely. We saw Gone Girl on Friday night and I am glad I read the book first. The movie was pretty good in a dark and twisted sort of way. Saturday included a coffee and reading date, a fall walk to the dog park (we are dog sitting Abby this weekend), a solo bike ride, and a girls night out to a couple of places (Black Pearl, Lena, and Frita Batidos) with my friend Sarah and SIL Andrea. Sunday we did nothing, which was perfect. We watched a couple of our shows, napped, and watched football. Also, the Sunday tradition of Andrea coming over for dinner, followed by a trip to frozen yogurt continues. We are all so thankful to live in the same state right now!
My mom arrives at the end of the week and I am really looking forward to hugging her a bunch and showing her a fall version of Ann Arbor. Enjoy your week, loves! TGIF! Michigan is bringing it this weekend in terms of the fall weather! I am hoping to do some fall walks and bike rides this weekend; you really have to take advantage of the sun when you can! I am also planning on catching up on shows, finishing my Cheryl Strayed book, and watching the Seahawks! Enjoy your weekend, friends! {all photos courtesy of: Pinterest}
Now that it is October, I feel ready to enjoy fall to the fullest. I have added a couple fall favorites to my weekend and Friday posts, but I figured I could do a blog series during the month of October that focuses exclusively on Fall.
Before I moved to Michigan, I had never heard about Cider Mills. Since living here for two years, I have gone to three! My favorite, hands down, is the Dexter Cider Mill. The doughnuts are out of this world...so much so that I may risk not feeling well for a couple days to eat their doughnuts this fall (Dexter Cider Mill doughnuts > Gluten intolerance). Below are some pictures from the past couple of years Cider Mill Adventures! Last year I took Valerie and the year before I went with friends! This year I hope to bring my momma who gets here next week! I may or may not have barely left my house this weekend - with exception to the grocery store, dog park, a quick lunch with Mel at Jerusalem Garden, and church. I mostly laid on the couch watching shows and football, napping, and/or reading. I do feel way better this morning and can tell the weekend of rest gave my cold a run for its money! We also got to start and end our weekend with our sister! So fun to have Andrea here in Michigan with us. What are you watching and reading these days? In the fall I always have an internal struggle between watching shows and reading. I try to do a little of both so that my mind isn't totally sucked up by the following (in no particular order of favorites): Scandal, New Girl, Biggest Loser, Mindy Project, Grey's Anatomy, Parenthood, Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and the newest addition- How to Get Away with Murder). RJ and I also recently started watching season one of Blacklist. Needless to say, there was a lot of catching up on shows this weekend, which is why my pictures are very limited. Enjoy your week and go Seahawks!!
The change in weather amounted into a cold for me and a weekend full of no plans but snuggling under blankets and watching shows or reading books. I really can't believe it is October! How did that happen? I love this time of year for its mulled wine, colorful trees, pumpkin flavored treats, and scarves. Now that I am a gluten free girl, I am also loving Angry Orchard hard cider! Enjoy your weekend, loves! {pictures courtesy of Pinterest}
I realized I never finished documenting our trip up North! It is hard to believe that was 4 months ago! I am still pretty nostalgic when I think about the trip and how much fun we had, so I thought today would be a great day to document part 4 of our northern michigan adventure.
I am still on a try new things kick in life (I hope it never ends) and most recently I took a photo class with a friend in downtown Detroit. It was beautiful weather, helpful instruction, and a chance to practice taking photos around the city. I am finally starting to feel more confident with our fancy camera! Ann Arbor experienced the most beautiful fall weekend! I seriously needed this weekend of sunshine before the cold front moves in and takes away the warmth for the next 7 months!
Friday night = girl's night! I experienced an Ann Arbor "townie" dining classic, "Knight's," with Kylee and my Ann Arbor momma! Saturday included a tailgate at Mim's House with puppy play, Corn Hole, and plenty of guacamole! RJ and I enjoyed afternoon naps and three hour FaceTime with our beloved friends Jaime and Kevin (and Corrado)! On Sunday we did the church thing and then I went to downtown Detroit with Brooke for a Groupon Photography class - a super fun way to experience Detroit and practice using my fancy camera! I will post more pictures from the class later this week! Have a fabulous last couple days of September! |
