January seems to be a difficult month for many people. It is darker, colder, post holiday, back-to-work gloom on top of whatever life stuff is getting us down. Lately, I have reflected on what it means to be empathetic and how to practice empathy in my professional life as an advisor as well as in my personal life as a wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
I saw this animated short from Dr. Brene Brown floating around on the internet and thought I would share. It reminds us what it means to climb down a hole to meet somewhere where they are at--not to solve their problems or try to make them feel better about their situation, but to let them know you are with them.
Who in your life needs a little company in their fox hole?
