My weekend included wrapping up my San Diego trip with family and traveling back to Ann Arbor. I can't wait to share more about my San Diego trip in another post, but I will share a few of the pictures from our trip to the Safari Park on Saturday below. It was such a fabulous trip! I kept pinching myself that it was my job that allowed me to go on a mini work and play vacation; what a refreshing time in terms of friend, family and sunshine time! Traveling home was not as refreshing, because I was sitting in the middle seat with no elbow room! But, I did read an entire novel - Big Little Lies. I highly recommend it! I am so glad to be back to my little family here and my job even though it started snowing the moment I walked in the door. Hello winter!

I am currently on a work and play trip in San Diego and had this moment where I really missed blogging! In the next couple weeks I will be blogging about a couple of things:
And of course, the usual weekend updates and four Friday favorites will continue. Enjoy the rest of your week, friends! I love fall coats! I am avoiding my winter puffy jacket as much as possible so I can make the most of my pea coats. If I had unlimited resources, I would purchase all these fall coats featured below! Also, Nordstrom is having a sale so that makes it extra tempting!
The concept and practice of self-care is not a new thing. For counselors and people in helping roles it is an essential skill to increase our effectiveness to those we are helping and interacting with in and outside of work. When work or life in general is a little more difficult to navigate, self-care habits should kick in. Yet, it is in these seasons of grasping for air that we are completely unaware of what we need to take care of ourselves. I was at dance fitness tonight getting completely lost in the music and movement (I am not a dancer, just a lover of dance) and it dawned on me that I had been neglecting the things in my life that keep me grounded. It is just as important to practice self-care even if we don't think we need it! I figured I should document this epiphany as well as jot down some notes on quick and helpful self-care ideas for anyone else who may need a reminder. Let's call them the 4 P's!
Let's commit to doing something to take care of ourselves this week and weekend! {photo credit} Last week went by fast and I wasn't able to blog much! This past weekend was spent celebrating my work's Centennial Reunion, relaxing with RJ, and exploring Blast Corn Maze with fam and friends! Our cousin Amanda was in town and it was great to see her! Also, her visiting gave us an excuse to go to Frita Batidos! This Price Family isn't really into Halloween (maybe this will change when we have littles), so we didn't pass out candy, dress up, or carve pumpkins. We did curl up in our bed by 9 am and watch TV without regrets! RJ and I also took our annual family picture (sneak peak below). I hope you all have a great week!
The weekend was a great combination of friend time and rest time. I woke up today feeling refreshed and ready for the week, which is always a surprise but a good reminder not to overbook my weekends. Also, can I mention how gorgeous the weather was this weekend? Ann Arbor, you can stay this temperature as long as you want (I fear this weekend's forecast). The one weekend regret is that I may have played a little too much Cookie Jam (basically Candy Crush, but with cookies). I see myself quitting cold turkey soon as to allow more time for reading, working out, and not being attached to my phone. I hope you all had a lovely weekend! See my review via pictures below. Friday - Wurst Bar with Brooke and Josh. Yes, I had a bun-less burger with peanut butter and bacon; don't judge. Saturday - long walk with Ashley in the woods and later playing Cities and Knights with Ashley and Spencer Sunday - church, Zingerman's Coffee Shop for Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Seahawks game, & shopping & fro yo with the sister in law! (Can we talk about how much I love fro yo and Snow Caps?) Enjoy your week, friends!
TGIF! We don't have too much planned this weekend, which will be lovely. I hoping to read and relax and just enjoy down-time. I really like to keep my weekends as low key as possible so that I feel refreshed by Monday! I also hope to do some trail running this weekend if it isn't too cold (somehow Michigan has been providing us with 35 degree mornings). Enjoy your weekend, friends!
If you saw my weekend update, you already got a glimpse into how much I love fall trees. It is probably my favorite part of the season. Someday I will explore New England during this time of year and take it all in. Today I had the chance to take pictures of the fall glory currently happening at the University of Michigan. Enjoy my fall favorite via these pictures below!
I had such a fabulous long weekend with my momma! I really really miss living closer to her. It was so nice to go on walks together, go out to eat, sit on the couch and watch a movie together, laugh, and hug! You may notice a major theme in the pictures below - fall trees! Ann Arbor was in it's prime time for beautiful trees and I am so glad my momma got to witness it! I wish I lived close enough to my mom to spend more time with her! I am so incredibly blessed to have such a good relationship with my mom. She really is the best and I am thankful for the time we had together! Today was full on momma withdrawals! friday
saturday and sunday
monday
My mommy is here and I am beyond excited to have her all to myself this weekend. Although, I will likely allow RJ to spend time with her as well. The plan includes hugs, the Detroit zoo, more hugs, a trip to the cider mill for donuts, fall walks, some hugs, maybe a movie, scrabble playing, perhaps a University of Michigan Art museum, some more hugs, and some good food! Since this Friday includes a visit from my mom, I figured I could do a mom edition of four friday favorites.
