Just two years ago, we moved away from so many of our friends (and family). We threw ourselves into the friend-making business in Ann Arbor and have made many, long-lasting friendships.
My very first Ann Arbor friend was Lauren. We met before I even moved here on LinkedIn of all places. She grew up in the Seattle area and was working in the Career Center at the University of Michigan, so I figured she would be pretty cool. Fast forward to today, the day she moves away from Ann Arbor, and she is one of the coolest people I know. How lucky am I to have met such an incredible friend, now one of my very best friends? I am sad to see her go. What will my week be like without a quick drink with her? Who will I take lunch breaks with when I need a cheerleader? The past two years have been filled with adventure, laughter, tears, hugs, and incredible friendship. I desperately want her to stay, but I am incredibly thankful that we are friends and will be for a lifetime.
When friends move away, it sucks...plain and simple. What doesn't suck is that the friendship can still live on and be a brilliant part of your life. Cheers to you, Lauren. Thank you for being a huge part of my Ann Arbor life and my life to come. I love you biff!
