It's been awhile since I shared some book reviews, because I am struggling with my goal of reading 50 books this year! I haven't been reading much, but I have four books to share with you...read them! Hopefully I can pick up my reading pace for the second part of this year. Right now I am reading Daring Greatly (seriously good and reflective) and I just downloaded Maine onto my kindle through my online library (so far, I am enjoying it!)
This book, but more importantly Malala, is inspiring! I really enjoyed learning about Malala and I still follow her as she is advocates for education and for girls' rights. Read this - you won't be disappointed. | One autistic boy's understanding of the world and why he is the way he is. There are mixed reviews about this book, but I thought it was a very powerful way to understand autism. |
I first read a Liana Moriarty novel in wine club book club - What Alice Forgot. I really like Liane's storytelling and you instantly get sucked into the world of her character's. If you want an easy read with a few twists and turns, this is a great one to read. Also, it is set in Australia so I like to imagine the character's Aussie accents. | I grew up watching Julia Child's re-run cooking show. I can still hear her voice, "more wine, more butter!" I had no idea how interesting Julia Child's life was as the wife of a foreign service officer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to cook and likes to learn about interesting people. |
