I worked over the weekend to try to catch up on things as the next 7-10 weeks at the Ford School will be fun chaos. I am a salary employee, so technically I can work beyond my 40 hours and not get paid for it. It is discouraged at my place of business to do so, but there was something so great about coming in on Saturday morning and getting a ton done...uninterrupted! It was not a bad way to spend my Saturday. I also got to meet my Ann Arbor Biff (nickname for Lauren) at Sava's for lunch afterwards, which was a great reward!
Bottom line, I don't mind working on the weekend once in awhile, because I am in a job that is my career. It is not just a job, but a place where I receive huge personal fulfillment--and I don't feel bad about this. It is such a gift! What are your thoughts on working "over-time" and finding a job vs. career? (pictures courtesy of pinterest).
