What a lovely weekend! So lovely, in fact, that I am struggling to stay motivated at my desk today. Other than laundry, I did no cleaning this weekend to take full advantage of the sunshine, my little family, and some friend time!
Friday night- RJ and I rented The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Oblivion. I had first seen Walter Mitty over the holiday break with my sister and mom and enjoyed it just as much the second time. The themes, music, and scenery makes this movie worth the watch. So many good reminders in this movie to make the most of each day, to be courageous, and to explore the world around us. My favorite quote and reminder from the movie is, "if I like a Moment For me Personally I don't like to have the distraction of the camera. I just want to stay in it." Sadly (or not sadly), I could not keep my eyes open to watch Oblivion. |
What Ann Arbor weekend is complete without floating down the Huron River? If you have a river near where you live (that is float-able), I highly recommend this relaxing activity. Amazon sells this durable tube to the right for only $16 right now and it is worth it if you think you will use it more than once! I took Ashley with me and we enjoyed catching up, people watching (there were some wild ones), and dipping our toes in the water. It was a perfect day for it and I plan to float as much as possible this summer! |
We had Andrea over for Saturday and she snapped the picture above...love it. It is so nice to have Andrea here and to take care of her when we can!
Sunday included Church and a friend date with Mel. We went to TeaHaus, an amazing tea shop in the heart of Ann Arbor, that I definitely plan to frequent. There are so many teas to try and a lovely atmosphere to enjoy them in. I haven't always liked tea, but this past year my love increased and I can't get enough. What's your favorite flavor? Mine was Almond (the pink one). But, why is it pink? Mel had Blood Orange.

We also went to a new thrift store I hadn't been to before and I scored a new black skirt for $3.50 and several books that will be quick summer reads. I then poured myself over My Life in France (I finally finished it!) and laid in the warm sun for the rest of the afternoon. And, I got to enjoy a late walk around the Dog Park with Ashley and her fur-child, Abby. It sounds busy (considering how long this post is), but it was relaxing and perfect.
